History buffs flock to Harpers Ferry's historic downtown area to see the town's many historical sites. In fact, the town is part of the Harpers Ferry National Historical Park, which offers a variety of historical tours, living history presentations, and educational children's programs, as well as many other events throughout the winter season. Harpers Ferry's two museums offer indoor options for history lessons. The John Brown Museum contain exhibits and short films about the raid, while A Place in Time Museum offers a film and soundtrack on West Virginia and Harpers Ferry, plus local exhibits about the town and surrounding area.
